Once, there was a monk walking through the market, frustrated in his quest for personal enlightenment. On the street, he overheard a meat-seller making a sale. The client said, "which piece of meat is the best" to which the vendor replied, "every piece of meat I have is the best!" Then, the monk became enlightened.

Ben was born with drumsticks in his hand.

In grade school, Ben mostly played jazz, but has made

the switch to funk/rock/jammy style of RGT

Ben also is a student of world music and tries to

incorporate some of the new styles/instruments he's

learning (Indian tabla, West African djembe, Cuban conga,

Puerto Rican timbales)into his playing.

Ben would like to thank his family, teachers, and friends

for putting up with him for 20 years and counting.
