Billy Accomando

Name: William Paul Accomando (Billy)
Age: 22
Instrument: Bass guitar
Bass Idols: Phil Lesh, Mike Gordon, Les Claypool, Flea, Chris Squire, John Myung
Billy started playing classical music on the trumpet in 5th grade, and soon moved on to jazz and improvisation. He started guitar lessons with his mom's old Ovation acoustic and learned (among other styles) classic rock and jazz. His dad gave him a Fender Strat for his 14th birthday. A few years later his dad generously bought him a Paul Reed Smith semi-hollow mahogany body.
Billy sang a lot in the shower as a child. He also sang in an A Capella group called "The Acafellas" during Jr and Sr year of high school.
As soon as he could play guitar Billy started composing with his friends Roger (guitar) and Griffin (drums, keys). Writing music and jammin with friends was very difficult with no bass player. For some reason, everybody wants to play the guitar, but no one wants to play the bass. Thus, Billy sold his strat and spent a big wad of cash on a six string bass (like Myung) and an SWR amp the summer before senior year of high school. He honed his skills as a composer and bassist senior year with his band, *NSANE, and dabbled in recording and mixing using pro-tools and similar programs.
After forming RGT with the rest of the guys, Billy aquired a four string Fender Jazz bass for some funky playing and slapping action.
